A nonprofit home for the CRM CoE discipline
Â
CRM CoE Alliance is a movement to transform organizations' Customer Relationship Management through a universal framework, research, education, standards, and community.
WHY NO EXISTING FRAMEWORK SOLVED IT
Running a CRM Center of Excellence spans three domains.
Every existing framework covers two.
Architecture, delivery, and service management are all well governed — and CRM teams borrow those frameworks constantly. But none of them was written for the domain that decides whether a CRM program actually works: the customer relationship itself.
Domain 01
Foundation
Architecture, data, platform, security, compliance
✓ Covered — TOGAF, ITIL
Domain 02

✓ Covered — Agile, ITSM, PMP
Domain 03
Customer Centricity

Vision, adoption, value;Â the customer relationship itself

Transforming CRM from scattered work into enterprise discipline
Â
We advance the research, education, framework, and professional community needed to make CRM Centers of Excellence a durable enterprise capability in the AI era. The Alliance helps leaders move beyond isolated platform governance and toward a shared discipline that connects customer strategy, data integrity, adoption, risk, innovation, and measurable business value.
Â
Mission
To transform CRM CoEs into a recognized enterprise discipline. Our mission is to help organizations form, govern, educate, and mature CRM Centers of Excellence through the universal framework, practical research, leadership development, and a community of people committed to measurable customer and business outcomes.
Â
Vision
For CRM to run as an enterprise capability, not a platform project. We envision a world where every organization can use a common CRM CoE language, maturity model, and evidence-based practices to create resilient customer and business outcomes.
Â
Purpose
To give CRM CoE leaders the framework, research, and community they deserve. The Alliance exists to define and evolve universal CRM CoE standards, certify capable leaders, publish practical research, and create a trusted room where executives, CoE leaders, practitioners, and advisors can learn together.
Â
What does the Alliance stand for?
- Framework with room for context – We believe CRM CoEs need a common language and maturity framework, while still respecting each organization's industry, operating model, and pace of change.
- Measured business impact – We connect CRM governance to outcomes leaders can defend: adoption, data quality, risk reduction, customer experience, revenue resilience, and value realization.
- Practitioner-led learning – The Alliance is shaped by people doing the work. Research, certification, and community should translate hard-won experience into reusable practice.
- Responsible innovation – CRM CoEs must help organizations absorb AI, automation, and platform change with discipline, ethics, and customer-centered judgment.

Velu Palani
Founder
Velu founded CRM CoE Alliance to turn years of hands-on CRM governance, strategy, and Center of Excellence leadership into a shared nonprofit platform for the profession. The Alliance carries forward his conviction that CRM success depends on more than technology delivery: it requires standards, executive alignment, operating discipline, and a community committed to measurable outcomes.
With Charlie Havens, he wrote a book that lays out that framework, A Master Framework for the CRM Center of Excellence: Introducing universal standards for customer relationship management CoEs.
